The Lake Foundation is currently developing a fibroids awareness, information and support programme and as part of this work have conducted a survey toexplore the needs of women affected by fibroids, has formed a Fibroids Ask the Expert panel and has recently developed a fibroids booklet entitled Fibroids: what you need to know. Abi holds a BSc. in Medical Biochemistry, a MSc. in Clinical Biochemistry with Molecular Biology and a Masters in Public Health. She started her career in the pharmaceutical industry and has over 7 years experiences in the charitable sector.
Queen Nzinga was an African Queen who fought against the European invasion of southern Africa (Congo/Angola). The Queen Nzinga lecture series will feature African female academics / holders of expert knowledge, speaking on topics of their choice on a monthly basis. The Nzinga lecture series will provide a regular platform for women of African descent to highlight important issues in an academic setting.
